The Cowshed is quality accommodation, quirky yet spacious, a 15-20 minute walk to a range of local amenities including a small supermarket, deli, bakers, butchers, chemist, greengrocer, cafe, pizza restaurant, plus good pubs.
There are lovely country views from the property both to the front and rear.
There are pine floors throughout.
Downstairs there is a large open plan living area (Smart TV) with a log-burner and a fully fitted kitchen, fully tiled wet room with heated floor, large sunny, private courtyard with
side entrance door.
Upstairs is the open plan bedroom Kingsize bed, Smart TV and DVD, with original beamed vaulted ceiling. Sitting area with sofa bed, and balcony with seating perfect for breakfast and evening drinks, watching the sun go down.

Cosy, comfortable and well-equipped cottage.
The Cowshed is a great location for a relaxing stay in Devon. On the edge of Dartmoor with great scenery and walks yet within easy reach of Exeter if you want access to city amenities. The cottage is bright, modern and very well equipped, as well as cosy and comfortable. Wendy and Mark are friendly and welcoming and eggs from the chickens are a
delightful bonus! Some good local eating places - our favourite being Mill End at Chagford. We highly recommend The Cowshed and are already planning a return visit in the summer.

Lovely hideaway in a perfect location
We could only stay 3 nights in the Cowshed but loved everything about it, especially the log burner! Thanks Wendy for you efficient correspondence and lovely welcome when we arrived. Would love to return, and stay for longer next time!

Don't think for a moment it is a Cowshed!
This is really a small standalone luxury home in a delightful rustic setting, and is only a 1/4 hr walk down a country lane to Moretonhampstead. It would be easy to stay there & do very little but enjoy the house, its garden & surrounds. But its location also allows excursions to the many heritage, nature sites & walking opportunities of Dartmoor. Host Wendy is very friendly & helpful.

The Cowshed is a real gem
We had a wonderful time at the Cow Shed. A beautiful spot, perfectly equipped and a great location for sightseeing. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Would recommend it to anyone !

Magical place
We had the most wonderful week here. The Cow Shed itself is a spacious, well-appointed and comfortable base for a holiday, we loved it. Everything works, the spaces are beautiful inside and out - comfortable sofas and bed, cosy 'sun trap' walled garden and a balcony to chill out on - great for breakfast or an evening tipple! Wendy and Mark are the perfect hosts, friendly and knowledgeable about the area - nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome. This really is a fantastic base from which to explore Dartmoor and the surrounding areas. We stayed for a week and barely scratched the surface. We loved walking, exploring, climbing tors, seeing the wonderful wildlife, swimming in the crystal-clear river pools and cycling along the Granite Way. There are wonderful places to eat and drink, cream teas in abundance and too many stunning country pubs. We were blessed with the weather which was a bonus. We will definitely be coming back to the Cow Shed and recommend it and the owners without hesitation.

Excellent property
We spent several nights here during half term week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is great for exploring Dartmoor and the accommodation was lovely, exactly as seen in the photos with everything you will need. We made use of the wood burner on a couple of evenings which was good fun too. Highly recommended to anyone wanting peace and quiet but within walking distance of local shops too.

The Cowshed lovely cottage in Dartmoor
We are so happy we stayed at Mark and Wendy's cottage in Dartmoor Nat'l Park. It is a spacious, comfortable rental in lovely, country surroundings. The Cowshed has a well appointed, fully stocked kitchen with new appliances and a washer/dryer. The living space downstairs is comfortable and roomy with a wood stove for those who like a real fire. The cottage also has room heaters if preferred. The wet room has modern facilities with a lovely shower and heated tile floors in the cooler parts of the day (we really loved that!) Every inch of the rental was spotlessly clean. There are DVD's for entertainment and many lovely books about Dartmoor that were a great help to us in planning our outings. The loft bedroom is a huge, beautiful space with a deck overlooking the back garden (splendid view), great for relaxing at the end of a busy day. The Cowshed is a perfect base for exploring the moor and Devon seaside. The nearby town of Moretonhampstead (nice pubs and a food co-op) is a pleasant, 20-minute walk from the cottage through stunning countryside. The rental is next to our hosts' manor house, but we were given total privacy. That said, Mark and Wendy were very kind and helpful, happy to offer suggestions of places to visit, or answer any questions about the rental. We would highly recommend The Cowshed to anyone wanting a great place to stay in Dartmoor. Our only regret was our stay was too short, and we hope we are able to return to The Cowshed on a future trip.

Peaceful location
I can't recommend it enough. Everything about the property was perfect. It was so quiet and peaceful, with no light pollution after dark. I can't remember the last time I'd actually seen starts in the night sky.
